School Counselor Responsibilities  Image of Family Holding Hands

The counseling program for Teresa Berrien Elementary School is a school wide comprehensive program. Our program is referenced from the ASCA National Model and the Cumberland County School Program. The objective of our counseling program is to assist students in meeting standardized academic goals along with personal enhancement in career, cognitive, and social/personal development. The program includes counseling students with a variety of methods such as individual, group, career, crisis and classroom guidance sessions. Input is also given during student services meetings held on campus and the 504 program supported by CCS. The school counselor consults with parents, teachers and administration in order to meet the needs of the students.

As the school counselor for Teresa Berrien Elementary my main focus for students is that they are all happy, safe and emotionally free to learn academically.
